I was course leader for Applied Research Methods and Design for Information Technology and Learning at the Department of Applied IT, University of Gothenburg. This course is mandatory within the International Master’s Programme in Information Technology and Learning. The purpose of this course is to help students develop methodological capacity in the field of educational technology research. On completion of the course, the students should be able to:
- become critical readers and users of academic research
- understand how, why, and when to use research methods
- apply research findings to make decisions about the design of educational environments that enable learning
- follow a clear method throughout the research process—investigating and collecting data, analyzing and interpreting them.
