Associate Professor in Informatics, University of Gothenburg, Sweden

Research Areas

  • Citizen Engagement in Science and Governance
  • AI for Crowdsourcing and Citizen Science

My current research focuses on machine-human integration in projects using citizen science and machine learning to achieve the SDGs. The methods I focus on to bring together people, data, and technology include citizen science, crowdsourcing, peer-to-peer exchange and citizen-generated data.

I am also interested in citizen-generated data and how they might actually serve the public good by contributing to policy making and the public sector.

My research has been funded by the Swedish Research Council, Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, and NordForsk.
